World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day, recognized on the first of December every year, is a global initiative to raise awareness, fight prejudice and improve education about HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). Established in 1988, AIDS became the first public health issue to have a health awareness day. We can all be a voice in spreading awareness regarding HIV and AIDS, by getting tested, fundraising, wearing the red ribbon or lending an ear to someone diagnosed with HIV or AIDS.
