World Health Day is April 7th
Every year on the 7th of April, World Health Day is observed under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO). Each year speaks to a different worldwide healthcare need or crisis and in 2018, the WHO is speaking out for universal health coverage. This means that all people and communities should receive basic and necessary health services without suffering financial hardship. This need occurs all around the world, and pharmacists see it more than most. Being one of the more accessible healthcare workers, they have a strong picture of the community around them.
However, World Health Day is not just for one day of awareness, but for year-round healthcare considerations. Pharmacists can promote healthy decisions year-round by offering basic education and awareness. A simple consultation can make a huge difference – whether it’s choosing the right vitamin, offering services to remain adherent on medication, or even showing the proper way to administer insulin.
The World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO).
