In last week’s blog we talked about bundling your services to create a program that is marketable to your patients and your community. Developing a program is a great way to set your pharmacy apart, and branding is an essential step. What is branding? It is the marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates your product or service from others.
Not just any name. Choose something that resonates with the community you serve. Your program name should also represent something unique about your pharmacy or the products and services you are providing. It is best to avoid terms like adherence or compliance. These terms not only do not create a positive feeling, the meaning may be unclear to members of your community. Instead, pick words that evoke a positive emotion or connection to your pharmacy. After all, you are providing services that can improve their life.
Whether it’s your program name in a special font or color, or a new logo that aligns with your pharmacy’s brand, it is a great idea to have a visual representation of your program. You want your customers and other members of your community to recognize you at a glance and associate your brand with the great services you provide.
Once you create your program name and the visual representation to go along with it, it is time to make materials available that your staff can use to educate your patients and spread the word in your community. Flyers, brochures, and posters are a few great resources. Make sure you clearly list all services along with your pharmacy’s phone number, website and email for more information.
Your website and social media platforms are great ways to connect with community members who have yet to step foot in your store. Make sure you update your website to reflect your new program. If you have a Facebook page, try to feature your program in posts at least one time each week. Stay tuned for more tips and solutions for your pharmacy’s online presence in future blogs!
